Job Summary:
This role will support the existing cloud-based production environments of our clients while providing assistance to development teams as requested for cloud services. For production environments, this will include the handling of support tickets, regular maintenance and updates to client environments, applying mitigation strategies to known issues, and handling urgent outages. Assistance to development teams can include providing consultation on infrastructure architecture design and configuration, including creating relevant artifacts, as well as cost estimations for cloud-based hosting. This role includes ownership of technical, commercial, and service elements related to cloud project engagements. The successful applicant will be able to work independently under the provided policies and procedures while providing clear communications to the technical and support teams they assist.
Responsibilities:
Role responsibilities for this position include:
·Ability to create artifacts for cloud infrastructure projects to include migration strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and transformation recommendations.
·Design and build end-to-end hybrid DC and Cloud solutions for multiple types of service offerings and/or technology offerings.
·Manage production operation and support of multiple client cloud environments within AWS, AZURE, or GCP.
·Assess infrastructure requirements for new client projects and existing environments and provide cost estimates based on current vendor prices.
·Work independently to address client tickets within contractual SLAs for timeliness in handling support tickets.
·Handling the creation and configuration of client cloud environments consistent with the productivity and financial performance objectives of the project. This also includes the handling of internal team environments.
·Provide routine maintenance, upgrades, and improvements for client production environments and internal team environments.
·Efficient and effective communication, both verbal and written to facilitate issue resolution and complex infrastructure design discussions.
·Assess and provide a variety of technology solutions to support client and company infrastructure needs while providing the pros and cons of each technology to enable business decision-making choices.
·Manage standards, procedures, and practices for record keeping of contractual agreements and internal IT Cloud strategy
·Identify potential project risks and incorporate risk mitigation strategy and contingency plan
·Continued professional development and growth by staying in touch with the latest technology offerings and trends as well as proper industry procedures and standards.
Qualifications:
·5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
·Infrastructure Transition and/or Data Center Migration to the Cloud experience
·Experience in two or more of the industry's common cloud hosting environments: AWS, AZURE, or GCP, as well as the development and configuration of new infrastructures within those environments.
·Experience in managing the production operation and support of one or more technology solutions, including custom development applications, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
·Experience in designing and creating architecture diagrams/artifacts to be used for both business and technical teams. This includes artifacts and designs about:
·Deep knowledge of On-Prem technologies like KVM, VMWare, Nutanix, converged architecture, Hyper-converged infrastructure, Private Cloud technologies, etc.
·Experience working within both project-centric and project-matrix resourcing models
·Experience in working with support tickets under defined SLAs.
·Exposure to the full procurement life cycle (e.g., working with third parties to receive quotations, assisting in the commercial aspects of procuring data center-related hardware and licensing, etc.)
·Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written communication.
·Familiar with ITIL processes.
